Fall

poetry-wednesdays7

Glowing behind the leaves
The sun peeks through
The smell of crispness
and the feel of dew

Walking along the path
There’s a fall smell
The trees and plants try
to show and tell

Pumpkins on the doorstep
Scarecrows standing by
Birds start to migrate
and begin to fly

The end begins the new
and Autumn is here
Reaping a full harvest
of memories dear

And when we come together
Enjoying the heat
The days become shorter
as the sun retreats
